Questions relative to this market survey should be addressed to Paige Mosley: paige.mosley.1@us.af.mil PURPOSE/DESCRIPTION: The Government is conducting market research to identify potential sources that possess the repair data, expertise, capabilities, and experience to meet qualification requirements for the C-5 Moving Island Actuators NSN(s): 1680-01-185-7485, 1680-01-522-2388, 1680-01-179-8076, 1680-01-521-8824, 1680-01-181-5670, 1680-01-521-8823, 1680-01-180-0262, 1680-01-521-8826 for the USAF. The moving island actuators are part of the secondary flight control system that controls the moving island section of the slats. The moving islands provide aerodynamic sealing when the slats are retracted, and the moving island actuators move the moving islands out of the way when the slats are extended. These parts listed in the report are critical to the function of the slat system of the C-5 family of aircraft. Special tooling is required for the repair and overhaul of the moving island actuators called out in the overhaul manual. Companies are encouraged to provide responses to this questionnaire but are advised that their participation is voluntary and no reimbursement of any kind will be provided.
