Approximately the following volumes to be harvested from within the designated block boundaries: Butterfield Lake North Timber sale, timber is per unit any sawlogs sold on the MEARNG sliding scale– Contains within the harvest block approximately 2,049 Tons of designated Balsam Fir, 4,311 tons of Aspen, 1,401 tons of Mixed Hardwood and firewood, 3,449 tons Mixed Softwood Pulp, and 1,607 tons biomass. Item 1: Butterfield Lake North Harvest Area 1 125.5 acres (Operator Select, Single-Tree-Selection, average residual BA 40-60 ft2/ acre) BALSAM FIR – 551 TON ASPEN (POPLAR) – 1,947 TON MIXED HARDWOOD PULP – 759 TON MIXED SOFTWOOD PULP – 1,381 TON TAMARACK – 30 TON BIOMASS – 538 TON Butterfield Lake North Harvest Area 2 98.7 acres (Operator Select, Single-Tree-Selection, average residual BA 40-60 ft2/ acre) BALSAM FIR – 974 TON ASPEN (POPLAR) – 1,200 TON MIXED HARDWOOD PULP – 535 TON MIXED SOFTWOOD PULP – 1,718 TON TAMARACK – 30 TON BIOMASS – 720 TON Butterfield Lake North Harvest Area 4 44.4 acres (Operator Select, Single-Tree-Selection, average residual BA 40-60 ft2/ acre) BALSAM FIR – 524 TON ASPEN (POPLAR) – 1,164 TON MIXED HARDWOOD PULP – 107 TON MIXED SOFTWOOD PULP – 350 TON TAMARACK – 30 TON BIOMASS – 349 TON Contract shall run from official Notice to Proceed and Performance Deposit collection through to October 31, 2027, no tree felling shall occur from April 15 to September 30, all tree felling; tree skidding, processing, and hauling shall be complete by 31 May 2027; and all site repair work as directed must be complete by 31 October 2027. INSPECTION INVITED ON TUESDAY September 22, 2026, AT 9:00 a.m. Sealed bids will be accepted until 2:00 p.m. Thursday October 8, 2026 by the Acquisition, Management, and disposal section, real estate office, 803 Front Street, Norfolk, VA, and then opened publicly. Forms for use in submitting bids are attached within this posting as an Invitation for Bid link as a pdf file.
