The Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), Global health Center, Division for Global HIV & TB International Laboratory Branch intends to award a sole source firm-fixed-price contract to the American Association for Laboratory Accreditation (A2LA) for accreditation to ISO/IEC 17025:2017, ISO/IEC 17043:2023, and ISO/IEC 15189:2022 standards. The accrediting body must perform inspection activities pursuant to formal recognition of ILB as an accredited laboratory for these three standards. Accreditation provides independent validation that government laboratories are conducting their work according to documented procedures and internationally accepted quality standards. The accrediting body will also ensures adherence to all applicable QMML requirements. The American Association for Laboratory Accreditation (A2LA) is the only source capable of accrediting our laboratories to ISO 15189, 17025, 17043. No solicitation will be published for this requirement. This notice is issued solely to determine whether there are any responsible sources capable of meeting the Government's requirements. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotations; however, all capability statements, or responses received within five (5) days of the issuance of this notice shall be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. Any capability statement, or response should be emailed to the Contract Specialist, Eugene Gutierrez, at zvm0@cdc.gov no later than August 7, 2026, at 2:00 pm (EST).
