Description

THIS NOTICE DOES NOT CONSTITUTE A REQUEST FOR EITHER A QUOTE OR PROPOSAL, OR AN INVITATION FOR BID.THE INTENT OF THIS SOURCES SOUGHT IS TO IDENTIFY POTENTIAL CRANE PARTS AND COMPONENTS CAPABLE OF MEETING THE AGENCY’S REQUIREMENTS. NO SOLICITATION, SPECIFICATIONS OR DRAWINGS ARE CURRENTLY AVAILABLE. The purpose of this notice is to determine if there are commercially available crane parts and components that demonstrate the ability to meet the Agency’s requirements. The crane parts and components would potentially be specified (as brand name) issued for services to repair or upgrade cranes located at Naval Submarine Base Kings Bay within the NAVFAC Southeast Area of Responsibility. Looking for parts which have capability with Heyl-Patterson 10,000 lb. capacity cranes 83-00330 and 83-00331 These parts must comply with the requirements of the NAVFAC P-307 Weight Handling Program Management for compatible maintenance and replacement parts for this type of crane. Required parts are as follows: Magnetek Pre-Engineered Control Panel (141-27330): 4014 G+ Series 4 Drive w/Line and Load Reactors, DB Resistor, CB (hoist) Meeting: 460V AC, 7.5 HP (Heavy Duty) VFD with line and load reactors, DB resistor, CB for the hoist 4001 G+ Series 4 Drive w/Line and Load Reactors, DB Resistor, CB (trolley) Meeting: 460V AC, 0.75 HP (Heavy Duty) VFD with line and load reactors, DB resistor, CB for the trolley 4003 G+ Series 4 Drive w/Line and Load Reactors, DB Resistor, CB (bridge) Meeting: 460V AC, 2 HP (Heavy Duty) VFD with line and load reactors, DB resistor, CB for the bridge Magnetek SBP2-8 Electromotive Pendant (127-24279) Rueland VFD Inverter Rated Motor With "B" Gear Reducer (0007C-XBAC-XXXX-TBA) This sources sought is seeking responses to determine whether or not there are compatible parts which could replace the parts as listed above (Magnetek and Rueland) which could be used to ensure full functionality of the Heyl-Patterson 10,000 lb capacity cranes. If generic parts may be used instead of the name brand then it is the government’s intent not to restrict the purchase to name brand only. If there is no other compatible part, then the government’s intent will be to solicit based on a single source (brand name) for crane parts and components. The intent is to use these parts for the purpose of upgrading the cranes. Responses to this inquiry are to be submitted by 01 September 2026. Responses should include the following: Have you used non-name brand/different name brand components to accommodate the maintenance/repair of these same Heyl-Patterson 10,000 lb capacity cranes? If you have, please describe the brand/type and any obstacles/successes. If your recommendation is to stay with the brand name parts as specified above and by the NAVFAC P-307 Weight Handling Program Management, please provide your reasoning. If no responses are received by 12:00 PM EDT, 01 September 2026, to the effect that obtaining compatible parts then the Government will proceed with obtaining these parts through utilization of the name brand as identified. As the sole intent of this sources sought is for market research and to determine the utilization of name brand for these cranes, there will not be an opportunity for the government to respond to industry inquiries.
