Intent to Acquire Sole Source - Security Trays/bins for Computed Tomography (CT) X-Ray Systems

8/26/26 - The below description is hereby updated, with changes in bold: The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) intends to contract using other than full and open competition for Security Trays/bins for Computed Tomography (CT) X-Ray Systems. These trays/bins are to be delivered to Harry Reid International Airport (LAS), Savannah/Hilton Head International Airport (SAV), Denver International Airport (DEN), and Miami International Airport (MIA). The trays/bins are used at the screening checkpoint in conjunction with the X-Ray machine for passengers to load their accessible property to be screened. Accordingly, the TSA intends to award a contract to Smiths Detection Inc., 2202 Lakeside Boulevard, Edgewood, Maryland 21040-1102. This contract will address the requirements of TSA’s office of Security Operations. The proposed contract action is for supplies or services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 6.302. Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement or submit proposals. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
